To support the new vTPM 2.0 device while remaining performant, Fusion has introduced a new ‘fast’ encryption type. It stores contents in an encrypted section of the virtual machine files, securing the ‘secure enclave’ and providing hardware-tpm functionality parity. While designed with Windows 11 in mind, the device can be added to any VM for use. However, for users who want to run more traditional win32 and 圆4 apps, Windows 11 on Arm has built-in emulation to run those applications compiled for Intel/AMD, and as a user-level process our testing has shown us that this works ‘out of the box’.įusion 13 introduces a TPM 2.0 virtual device. Note that Fusion on Apple Silicon must run the Arm variant of Windows 11, and it does not support the x86/Intel version of Windows. You will need to switch the hardware version to lower version that is compatible with the version of Fusion (or other VMware product) that you are using.īoot up your VM and log back into your user account. Note that you will not be able to run this virtual machine in an older version of VMware Fusion unless you change the Compatibility settings of the VM while it is shutdown. Select upgrade to begin the upgrade, you may notice the Virtual Machine upgrading VMWare Tools once it boots to the desktop. Virtual machines will be prompted to upgrade to the Fusion compatible hardware version on startup. Once updating has completed, you are ready to start using VMware Fusion Click "Download and Install" to start the update process. You may be prompted to install an update to VMware Fusion.Enter your administrator username and password if prompted, and click OK.You will be prompted to input the IS&T-provided license key, as noted in step 1.Once VMware Fusion launches, you will be prompted to accept the application's Software License Agreement.Result: VMware Fusion will be copied to the Applications folder. Open the mounted disk image and double-click on the VMware Fusion icon to begin the installation process. A disk image named "VMware Fusion" should now be mounted in OS X.Locate and open the downloaded file named "VMware-Fusion.dmg".Please note the license key on this page since you will need it once you launch VMware Fusion for the first time.
